Futuring Robot was founded in Shanghai by Zhang Yi in September 2022; Zhang Yi previously founded the Zhangmen 1-on-1 education company and pivoted to robotics after the tutoring industry crackdown. The company is China's first robotics company focused on consumer home scenarios: in September 2025 the F1 started paid rental trials (RMB 3,000-4,000/month), and in April 2026 it launched the second-generation dual-arm home service robot F2 (21 DoF, 24 sensors, priced from RMB 36,000), covering childcare, light housework, pet interaction, and elder companionship.
